About the Instructor
Jeannette Pomeroy Parssi, Instructor
After twenty years in South Florida, Ohio native Jeannette Pomeroy Parssi recently returned to her Midwest roots, moving to Fishers, IN in the spring of 2018. Jeannette works as a painting and drawing instructor at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen MI, Nickel Plate Arts in Noblesville, and leads workshops at Ignite Studio in Fishers, where she was the artist-in-residence in 2019. She is a mentor and a supporter of the local arts scene. Jeannette was recently honored as the Nickel Plate Arts Educator of the Year, 2020. In addition to being a teacher, she is a professional artist and her work has been well received by area art lovers. Since arriving in Fishers, her paintings have been included in more than ten exhibitions. Jeannette’s paintings reflect the influence of artists she has admired over the years – including Wolf Kahn, Paul Gauguin, and others whose paintings, like Jeannette’s, are alive with color. She has studied with renowned artists Graham Nickson, dean of the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture; and Miraslov Antic, an instructor at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
